We moved to Pagosa Springs from Baltimore, Maryland, in the spring of 2007. Like just about anyone else not born and raised in Pagosa, we were drawn here by the tremendous beauty and stellar weather of the San Juan Mountains, the wide variety of recreational activities within close reach, our wonderful hot springs, and the honest, friendly, laid back attitude of the folks who live here in Archuleta County, Colorado.
We have many years experience running successful small businesses back east and a solid grounding in the real estate business. Our wide variety of work and business experience includes real estate brokerage and property management, years of mediation and negotiation work, contracting experience, and building, owning and directing a highly regarded picture frame store and art gallery back in downtown Baltimore. We’re both Realtors and members of the National Association of Realtors as well as members of the Colorado Association of Realtors. Joe is a board member with the Pagosa Springs Area Association of Realtors, of which we are both members as well.
Joe is also President of the Ruby Sisson Library Board of Directors here in Pagosa Springs, as well as their treasurer. Working on the belief that you have to pay something forward and help young folks become good citizens and good people, Joe’s also a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado. His young buddy (Little Brother), Carter, and he are doing their best to strike fear into the hearts of every trout in the Pagosa area. (Big Brothers and Big Sisters is a great organization – they, and more importantly the kids, can always use more help, so if you’re looking for something to do…)
Lisa brings to her real estate brokerage business almost twenty years of Baltimore County Courts experience as a highly trained mediator and negotiator, where she worked primarily in the divorce custody division and also worked as an adoption investigator . She sits on our Bucks for Bikes committee, an organization formed by the Pagosa Area Association of Realtors that raises funds to purchase bicycles for kids who otherwise cannot afford them. She also sits on the Pagosa Area Association of Realtors Public Relations, Community Development and Government Affairs Committee and helps out the Town Tourism Committee.
How does this help Lisa and I perform in the real estate business, and how does this help us to help you as you consider buying or selling real estate in Pagosa Springs, Colorado? Simple: We’re comfortable with a wide variety of folks from varying backgrounds. We’re creative and work well individually and as a team, we understand finance and marketing, particularly as it relates to the real estate business here in Pagosa Springs, we bring strong analytical and negotiating skills to the table and we know how to work very hard to accomplish goals.
After living for 18 years in downtown Baltimore, we also bring a fresh perspective to Pagosa. We know what it’s like to make a radical change in living and we work well with clients, coming to or leaving Pagosa Springs, who are contemplating the same. We can still see Pagosa as an outsider might and we have an objective take on its minor faults and its major strengths. We’ve explored widely the stunning landscape that frames Pagosa Springs and we’re well acquainted with its varied neighborhoods, residential areas, vacant land and ranches. We’ve become adept at helping our clients sort through the issues that can affect the important decisions they make as they contemplate buying or selling property here.
While we’ve been here long enough that we’ve got an excellent feel for Pagosa Springs as well as Archuleta County and southwest Colorado, we can still approach the Pagosa area real estate market with an outsider’s objectivity and no preconceptions – a hugely important perspective in today’s unsettled real estate market.
